Night Mutiny: This sculpture is paper cast from the letters of prisoners on San Quentin death row. The letters were given to me from PAFA alum Nancy Brandt who worked as a lawyer with these prisoners. I chose the title as Night is the time of death for death row prisoners and Mutiny because the death penalty seems as a rebellion against a higher order of compassion; forcing to wonder what would compassionate accountability look like?
