Sculpture

Why was the king thirsty; why was the donkey sad? paper cast from letters of prisoners

I first model the piece in clay and then cast the clay into bronze in my studio foundry.  The colors are a patina using both pigments and acids burned onto the bronze.  I am also casting pieces in paper, using the thousands of letters received through the Prisoner Express project in which I volunteer as art director.

A dream is where we’ll meet – paper cast from letters of prisoners

Death by sinking. papercast from the letters of prisoners. Walking across the peat bogs on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, I couldn’t help but think how easy it would be for a sheep or a person to get stuck in the mud

    1. Dear Allen, Thanks so much for your comment and for taking the time to see the exhibition! (Right now I’m at the museum doing an interview with Roman Glass (staff) for the museum’s Facebook page.)
      Best, Treacy
